Something that happened yesterday which I didn’t want to happen.
[If you are not aware, I stay along with my friends in bangalore. I and Balamurugan, Balamurali, Kalpit, Senthil, Ramalingam, Manu, Ajay, Vinoth share our daily stories before going to bed.]
Yesterday, after finishing up with the extra work in the office, I was actually preparing myself for a wonderful weekend. Gosh! I didn’t watch the ongoing match between India and SriLanka for the last few minutes.
When I reached home, I could see boss (pen name for Balamurugan) and Kalpit were keenly watching the match. Ram was already getting ready to a trip into dream world. Being a weekend, all other headed to different places outside Bangalore.
As these people know, I always prefer to movies and entertainment than watching sports. But this time it was an exception. Anyway, I could see a change in mood in these guys faces as I stepped in. But I surprised them and joined the league to watch the match.
Till the first innings end everything was smooth and every five overs a series of phones calls were fired from our room to update the score for our inmates. The interval part was fun for me. I was satisfied, though for just 40 minutes for the next innings to being, to watch rest of the channels.
Soon the phone rang to inform that the 2nd innings had started. Again, back to same seating and watch the math! But things turned topsy turvy; wickets fell off very quick.
One by one we signed off from watching the match. Still the boss was not letting his hope on India, except him everyone was already lying under our bed sheets! It was already sure, the worst thing is going to happen and it’s unavoidable. Anyway, we couldn’t do much about it.
The morning was little kick abouts! Everyone decided not to watch any cricket match again! Adding fuel to fire, when I turned on the TV every news channel was debating about the same. It didn’t turn out to be a good time then.
Balamurali, one of the sincerely patriotic fellow
, didn’t miss out to call us as soon as he reached Coimbatore, to know the results. I’m sure, he was very much disappointed. Let’s see!… Lets see what’s in the basket for this weekend!
